Once the most important sugar port of the island, the small town of Falmouth is a pulsating small market town today. There are stone and timber structures in Georgian style to the left and right of the long through road which center around Market Street. There is a shopping mall at Water Square, from where the entire city used to be supplied with water. The former Court House dating back to 1815, which is considered one of the most beautiful Georgian buildings of Jamaica, is close-by. The drive to Good Hope Great House takes about 30 minutes. Today, the manor house is a luxurious, small hotel. You can even rent the manor house – but you have to rent the entire house.
