Blue Mountains and the east

Breathtaking views, foggy woods and coffee plantations

The Blue Mountains are synonymous with the greatest coffee in the world, sold at premium prices because of its exquisite flavour acquired during its slow growth on the cool, misty slopes where methods of cultivation, harvesting and roasting are the same as they have been for 200 years. It is also the most beautiful part of Jamaica, with forests, trails, birds and flowers for all nature lovers and the hike up to the highest point, Middle Peak, to see the dawn inspires a huge sense of achievement and wonder. It has been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The coast around Port Antonio is also attractive and unspoilt, being quite a distance from either of the main airports. Pretty bays, sandy coves, banana plantations, waterfalls and rafting on the Rio Grande characterize this end of the island.
