A verdant paradise, whether you're a wine lover or not
Napa is as well-known for its wine as any haughty French or Italian terroir - with hundreds upon hundreds of wineries, it's no wonder that people spend weeks just lolling around from one vineyard to the next, sampling Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and other popular varietals. Robert Mondavi and Beringer are two of the biggest names in Napa, though boutique wineries often best them with critics and tasters alike. However, if you're not a wine person, Napa is still worth a visit - the area is downright pastoral and easy on the eyes, while the culinary scene is considered top-notch. What do you expect from an area so close to San Francisco, boasting a glut of locally-produced wine and locally-grown produce?
