Hawai’i consists of 8 major islands and over one hundred small islands. The 2,400 miles distance to its mainland USA or any other major island makes Hawai’i our planet’s most isolated landmass. Visitors’ favorite islands are Maui for its beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere, and Big Island for its mysterious Biblical feel. If you are not greeted with a traditional Lei don’t fret—the intoxicating scent of the plumeria will enchant you every day of your paradise vacation here. Unless you want to stay in just one place it’s best to rent a car—and Hawai’i offers some of the cheapest rates in the USA. A 4-wheel drive is recommended for Big Island.
