A special exhibition is dedicated to Islamic archaeological finds in Sharjah
West of Literature Square, the Islamic Museum can be found in the former residence of Saeed Bin-Mohammed al-Shamsi, owner of a famous trading house. The exhibits – all of which are on loan from the private collection of Sheikh Sultan al-Qasimi – include a replica of the embroidered curtain covering the Kaba door in Mecca. Also on view is a world map from 1099 and numerous editions and calligraphies of the Qur’an, up to 900 years old.
