The city is drawing ever more visitors
It has a fantastic location between the Hajar Mountains and the ocean as well as its well-kept green spaces. It is the capital of the emirate with the same name.
The old town to the north of the mosque is little more than a few original houses and several ruins. The slightly elevated restored fort next to the palm gardens is also part of the historic town. In the past, it was the majestic date trees which added to the reputation and the modest wealth of the city. Today’s status symbol is the Fujairah Hilton hotel, located directly at the beach.
