This 200 sq km/77 sq mi oasis region includes around 200 springs and fountains. During the course of the oil boom a city has developed which not only supplies the emirate with agricultural goods but is also a cultural centre with the country’s largest university.
Green city Al Ain and Abu Dhabi are connected by one nearly continuous, multi-lane road, the sides of which have been covered with greenery. As the birthplace of Sheikh Zayed , Al Ain is held in high esteem by the entire UAE. The city has an international airport with direct flights to other Gulf States and has developed extensive import and export industries.
