Iceland's second bishopric, and the nation's oldest stone church

To the northeast lies the second bishopric in Iceland--from 1106 until 1798--as well as its oldest stone church, consecrated in 1763. The late medieval triptych altarpiece is impressive. The surrounding area offers inviting walks, and there is also an interesting freshwater aquarium.
