The transition from the old to the new Johannesburg can be clearly seen by visiting the plush suburb of Sandton, where the houses are as posh as those found anywhere in the world, and where the shopping malls are the home to an elegant mixture of jewelry stores, souvenir shops, restaurants, department stores, banks, hotels, clothing stores, and even flea markets. Nowhere else is this better seen than in Sandton City which has several floors of a multiplicity of stores, as well as the famous Nelson Mandela Square, where you can sit outside in the warm sun having a meal, whilst watching tourists line up to have their picture taken next to the enormous statue of President Nelson Mandela. This is indeed the new South Africa.

@YellowLlama I found the local Incredible Connection to be the best. Whatever you do, avoid the CAB Store in Sandton City. Useless I tell ya
