Costa Rica’s history at a glance
Set on a hill overlooking the capital, Costa Rica’s National Museum was once Fort Bellavista, the headquarters of the country’s one-time army. Its historical collections range from pre-Columbian artifacts, including stone balls, colonial furniture and present-day exhibits.
