A breathtaking view which cost the tax payers of Tokyo a fortune
The word “monumental” perfectly describes this 720 feet high building made of granite and reinforced concrete by best-known architect, Kenzo Tange, who apparently wanted to set a monument for himself and the Japanese capital. It is the highest city hall of the world and currently also skyscraper number one in Tokyo. The visitors queue at holidays to have a look into the distance from the observation platforms of the two towers on the 46th floor for free.
