The is the premier public art gallery in Japan specializing in art from the Western tradition. It is located in the musesum and zoo complex in Ueno Park, Tokyo. The museum's collection includes pieces from 15th century to the modern period.
The Museum was founded in 1959 around the Matsukata Collection, designed by the profilic architect Le Corbusier.
