Sung about by famous poets: The picturesque bay near Sendai
One of the “three most beautiful views” of Japan. In front of the little village, there is an imposing bay with over 260 pinewood covered isles. Most isles are of volcanic origin and were washed out by the sea. Only the mountain peaks often protrude out of the water with bizarrely formed trees. The unusual scene is a must-see for every Japanese especially because it was sung about by the most famous poets of the country.
