Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass
Soho and DUMBO are similar in a few key ways - both were primarily industrial neighborhoods, oozing Old World charm in the cobblestone streets and historic buildings. But while Soho has sold its soul to the devil and is largely a tourist circus, DUMBO maintains its neighborhood feel. Old warehouses and factories house loft apartments, restaurants, bars and gourmet grocery stores that cater to well-heeled young families and computer/design geeks alike. And unlike Soho, the artists have stayed in DUMBO - private art galleries and theater spaces offer some of the hottest tickets in town. Once you've taken in a show and eaten a late dinner in a converted factory, take a walk along the river to catch the prettiest views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges against the Manhattan skyline.
