One of the biggest public parks in the world
Central Park is an amazing nature reserve, the best park in NYC, with lots of things to do, such as renting a bike for a couple of hours, rollerblading, climbing rocky terrain or just strolling around. And then there is the annual 'Summerstage' hosting free concerts and films--and balloon rides.

Classic Central Park aktivities are skating on the Wollman Rink in winter and a dinner in the Boathouse restaurant in spring/summer. Latest offers include bouldering and yoga! The free summer-concerts and Shakespeare-performances are worth a visit too.
If you don’t have time to walk the full 6.5-mile loop around the park, hire a pedicab. They’re cheaper and less messy than horse-drawn carriages.
My favorite times to walk the Central Park Reservoir are springtime, when the cherry trees bloom, and late fall, when the sunsets over Manhattan are at their most dramatic.

If you look down on northern manhattan from the Empire State building, you'll see a massive blot of green upon Manhattan: Central Park. So massive, you could live in it and still not know it well. Find lawns, greens, statues, ponds, sail boats, restaurants, artists, Strawberry Field, hot dog vendors, and even penguins in its vast perimeters.
The lungs of NYC, the verdant Central Park is a gorgeous place for a stroll and a breath of fresh air. You can even rent horses here.
