Bright lights in the big city
It's hard to imagine another part of the city that so embodies the glitz and glamour associated with New York - at any given time of year, there are at least 30 theater productions going on, six nights a week. Flashing marquees and round-the-clock activity are the standard for the world's most famous theater district, and with Times Square smack in the middle of everything, the electricity in the air is palpable. Now that parts of Broadway are pedestrianized, you can just sit back and people-watch, but it would be a shame to miss out on some of New York's hottest shows. Musicals such as 'Wicked' or 'The Lion King' are hugely popular, often sold-out months in advance.
