Mount Rainier is a national landmark sight and one that is breathtakingly gorgeous. It is centered on the crater of a volcano which has lain dormant for 150 years and is encrusted with snow and ice. The park is designated 97% wilderness and is accessible throughout the year. The park receives heavy rain and lots of snow. Paradise, the most visited part of the park, is a beautiful flower meadow in the summer, and can be covered by 10-20 feet of snow in the winter! It holds the world record of maximum snow at 1122" in 1971. The entrance fee to the park is $15 per vehicle, valid for a week. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature or get adventurous and test your boundaries.
