Untouched nature in the deep river valley and on the plateau - refugee of the last windhovers and pink pigeons of Mauritius
Several nature reserves were combined to the Black River Gorges National Park. The landscape is accordingly varied. It stretches from River Peak, the highest mountain of the island, to the dense rain forest along the steep slopes of the Savanna Mountains. Only the trails through the Macchabée tropical forest, the Black River Gorges and the Black River Peak with a view of the entire island are recommended.
