The house of Pablo Nerudas: a special kind of museum since his lifetime
The little city of Isla Negra is situated to the south. Literature Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda found an ideal poet’s hermitage here in 1939. He rebuilt the beach house with eccentric ideas and filled it with objects of his collection: Mussels, snails, ships-in-a-bottle, and figure-heads. Today, the house is a museum and pilgrimage place for everyone who wants to learn more about Neruda. There is the nice Café del Poeta in the reception building of the Neruda foundation with a view of the Pacific. You can stay at Hotel La Candela.
