Kresowa has moved from the Stary Rynek after losing its least to an expansion of the city contemporary art gallery. But the same family (Śliwiński) runs it, and now the decor is nicer. The same staff. The same menu. The same fine restaurant at reasonable prices. I'm an Englishman, married to a Pole; we live in Poznań, and Kresowa is our favourite restaurant. The only complaint I might make about Kresowa is that its wine list is out of date and lacks scope. That said, wine is still new to Eastern Europe, and I am sure Kresowa will catch on. They serve the very decent beers of the local Lech brewery, and of course, they have numerous Polish vodkas. Worth special consideration is the Polish style Barscht (not the same as Russian borscht, though also based on beetroot) with tiny meat dumplings in it. A real winter warmer. Any of the main course meat dishes will satisfy, but for something truly Polish try the beef roulades. Kresowa is a wonderful, simply, truly caring restaurant that has never disappoint me or my wife in several years of visits. They are very child-friendly, great at organizing parties (birthdays, weddings, engagements, and corporate or club dinners), and if you go in summer you can even take your dog to the outdoor garden area. Altogether excellent value for money and a lovely experience.
