Look across the Upper Silesia from the monastery on Mount Anne

When the weather is nice, you can see Mount Anne even from Opole: The monastery church built by Franciscans stands at the highest elevation in the flat Oder Plain. Tens of thousands have made a pilgrimage to this place since the 18th century. Polish insurgents rose here in 1921 although this part of Upper Silesia had stayed with the German Empire due to a plebiscite.
