Large testimony to a past era

Although the Varsavians disliked the building for a while, it eventually became the landmark of town. The futuristic skyscrapers did not change anything about this – in the face of all opposition who hoped the cultural center would slowly but safely be built up. This giant was built from 1952 to 1955 on Stalin’s orders. The complex houses three theatres, several museums, a swimming pool and a gigantic convention hall.
