Memorial of horror: the largest of all concentration camps

West of Cracow, Hitler had the largest concentration camp of the Second World War built in 1940. About 1.1 million people, mainly Jews, were shot or gasified with Cyclone B, buried or burned in one of five crematories. Today, the camp for prisoners of war Auschwitz I, as well as the later constructed outpost Birkenau are memorials of horror.
