It was built in the second half of the 17th century. Its Baroque porch façade shows rich and finely-worked ornamentation (grapes, ears of maize, angels, double eagles and emblems of the religious order). On a corner high above the traffic, a very early St Christopher statue overlooks the streets. The Baroque "Templo de la Merced", built in 1650, is located near the cathedral (at the corner of Hidalgo/Loza). Inside, there is a wealth of gold embellishments, beautiful paintings and crystal chandeliers.
