Puerto Plata

Unfortunately, we don't have much English information about Puerto Plata, but we have more information in other languages German, French, Italian, Spanish. Here is the automatic translation by Google:

First-time visitors to experience the largest city (90 000 Ew.) On the north coast at first mostly as noisy, chaotic and not very attractive. A stroll through the historic Calle Beller with their beautifully decorated Caribbean cottages, a visit to the Parque Central, or a ride on the Malecón meerumbrandeten to the old fortified castle pirates, the fort of San Felipe, then votes conciliatory. There is the province of Puerto Plata and there is the city of Puerto Plata.
I have stayed in two 4 star resorts and l have also stayed inland with the locals and the Haitians. The city iself is hard to explain, l really can`t say there is a real tourist area. l guess anywhere along the Malecon( street which follows the ocean) is a little touristic. There is the San Felipe Fortress, a couple cute restaurants and yes the public beach. There are thousands of motoconchos (taxis). There are a few good places to stay. Prices range from 6 to 60$ a nite.
