Süleymaniye Camii
Süleymaniye competes with the Blue Mosque for the title of the largest, most beautiful, and grandest mosque of the city. Sultanahmet, as the Blue Mosque is properly called, is larger and better known, but aficionados consider Süleymaniye to be the most outstanding ecclesiastical architectural treasures of the city. Viewed from Topkapı, it sits behind the Grand Bazaar above the Golden Horn. If you look from the Galata Tower at the old part of town, it is still the dominating figure in the city's silhouette.
