A steep coast and amazing beach

About an hour's drive from Safranbolu, a steep quayside winds down into the lovely small town of Amasra (pop. 20,000). Located on two rocky promontories and surrounded by an impressive cliff-lined coast, the ancient Amasra, formerly called Sesamos, is one of the jewels of the Turkish Black Sea coast.
