A bit of everything: Antique and Byzantine, folklore and handicraft
Even though the museum also has some objects from the ancient world, Coptic Egypt, the Byzantine era as well as Islamic and Chinese art, it is mainly dedicated to the art, the handicrafts and the history of the post-Byzantine era. The folkloristic collections are the most interesting in this museum. However, the golden pendant with enamel and genuine pearls in form of a three-master under full sails of the island of Pátmos and very similar golden earrings of the island Sífnos are the most beautiful pieces – they all are from the 17th century.
