The Kailash temple was carved from rock as a monolith
Built in an untraditional fashion - Not piling stones on each other but starting on a big rock from the top and carving everything out - this is how the monks artistically created the Kailash temple which is 180 feet high and the most powerful monolith-building (made of stone) in the world. Best time for traveling is October until March, and the best time of day to visit is the afternoon because of the light.
