This small town is popular because of the annual Viljandi Folk Music Festival.
The sixth largest city in Estonia (21 000 Ew.) Is the center of the circle Viljandimaa. Only a few relics are evidence of the once mighty castle Fellin and the time of the Hanseatic city. A 50 m long suspension bridge crosses the moat to the castle ruins and fragments of an open-air stage. From the ruins of opens a picturesque view of the Lake Viljandi (Viljandi järve), of the residents with a beautiful sandy beach delighted.
