Central Malta

To the west of Mosta and Attard there is a nature lover's paradise. Fields and vineyards stretch to the foot of the ridge on which the thick walls were built to protect the town of Mdina. Adjoining Rabat was once a necropolis in early Christian times. On the west coast behind Mdina and Rabat, the Dingli Cliffs plunge dramatically down into the sea. Malta's largest forest, Buskett Gardens, is located in one of the valleys in between. There are not too many bathing spots to be found here, but the regions offers excellent hiking.
