El Floridita

A favourite haunt of Hemingway. It has had a recent face-lift and is now a very elegant bar and restaurant reflected in the prices (CUC$6 for a daiquirí), but well worth a visit if only to see the sumptuous decor and ‘Bogart atmosphere’. In the corner of the bar is a life-size bronze statue of Hemingway and on the bar, also in bronze, are his glasses resting on a open book. Live music.

El Floridita is credited with nearly 200 years of history. In the 50's was voted one of the seven most popular bars in the world. For his bar has been several generations of Cubans abroad and how curious you wanted to reach out to taste the classic Daiquiri, to the extent that the premises is also known as the "Cradle of the Daiquiri." World famous characters have been on this site, but is best known indid Hemingway, who reworked the Daiquiri to give life to Pope's drink. At present there is a statue remembering the novelist in a corner, her pose is such that it seems that the Nobel Prize was a lift to come to our meeting.
