This small medieval town is where Commissioner Wallander solves his cases.
Over 100 half-timbered houses, including the Pilgrändhus built in 1480, make Ystad one of the country's prettiest towns. The harbour and the sea also give the place a maritime feel. Further to the east there are great beaches along the Sandskog.
