This palace was built in 1850 based on designs by Wilhelm von Eschwege. He was commissioned to incorporate a 16th century monastery and also to blend together as many styles as possible. Boldly, he did not leave out any era of art history and integrated them all into a kind of medieval castle.

Awesome mix of architectural styles, richly decorated interiors and one of the most impressive altarpieces I remember seeing. The gardens are lush and exotic. Highly recommended!
