Sogndal is a municipality in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway.
Sogndal was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The annex of Fjærland was transferred from Balestrand to Sogndal January 1, 2000.
Sogndalsfjøra, which is the center of Sogndal municipality, has 3075 inhabitants (2006).
