The Hurtigruten stops, the Nordland railway finishes and the ferries to the Lofoten begin in Bodø. The historical buildings in Bodø were almost completely destroyed during the Second World War. As a result, the building built in 1903 which now houses the Nordland Museum is the oldest in the centre.
