Vondelpark

The park, which has a highly festive air, is a meeting place for strollers, skaters, dog owners and musicians.

This 48 ha park was built in 1877 as Amsterdam's first public park and named after the Renaissance poet, Joost van den Vondel. Wealthy citizens clubbed together at the time to create a green lung for their villa district.

This beautiful park looks like something out of a Monet painting, and while it's not as overgrown as Giverny, it's certainly just as magical. It's a great spot to chill, picnic, wander, and get a break from the city for a bit.
