Magical landscape. Fyn offers adventure, fairy tale, and nature.
Fyn is more than just one of Denmark’s 450 islands: it is a continent. The island’s coast is more than 1800 miles. The North is rough, in the East, there are many bays with sandy beaches, in the South there are harbor towns, and the West is solitary and almost deserted. Fünen is not only a natural- but also cultural during the medieval times in Nyborg; Odense became one of the richest town of Denmark around 1900 – and then there is Hans Christian Andersen, the great narrator. He set a memorial for his country and himself with the fairy tale of the “Ugly duckling”. Small islands with enchanted villages and harbors, remote beaches, a mild climate – the so-called Danish South Seas, the many islands in front of Südfünen between Als and Langeland are a small paradise. Many of the small islands are uninhabited and can only be reached with your own boat. Please visit http://www.danske-smaaoer.dk for more information.
