South England

Beyond the sea resorts and beaches - Impressive cultural sights, clean sandy beaches and long party nights lure tourists to the region between Dover and Land’s End.

Lonely coves with fine beaches, a 900 km hiking path along the coast, picturesque fishing villages and seemingly endless lonely stretches of land. The climate, especially furthest west in Cornwall, is very mild even in winter. It is no wonder then, that this is where England’s passion for gardening was born over one hundred years ago. At the time, the Victorians brought plants and flowers back from China and Japan to create a Cornish Riviera. Beyond this there are many beautiful towns in southern England to visit, such as elegant Bath and the historical pilgrimage town of Canterbury. Those who prefer a bit more action with lots of nightlife will be most comfortable in seaside resort towns Brighton, Bournemouth and old, but increasingly younger-feeling harbour town of Bristol. The South has something for everyone.
