A Cradle of Christendom.
The Counties Longford, Leitrim, Meath, Cavan, Laois, Westmeath, Monaghan, Roscommon, and Offaly lie between Dublin and Galway, the west and east coasts of Ireland. Further south are Tipperary, Kilkenny, and Carlow. The smaller counties might be less known, but definitely worth a visit with their numerous lakes of all sizes, and an undramatic, rolling countryside with open spaces, small villages and some historical sites. This is the place for anyone who is looking for a calm holiday, with lots of fishing and few other tourists.
