Teatro alla Scala

Milan's opera house: the stage of Rossini and Verdi, Caruso and Callas is a once in a lifetime experience.

This neoclassical shrine to opera music has been renovated and rebuilt by Mario Botta. Tickets (costing between 10 and 250 euros depending on the event) can be ordered via the internet (http://www.teatroallascala.it) and paid for by credit card. At the advance sales outlet on the first floor underground in Duomo Metro Station (open daily 12-6pm, Galleria del Sagrato) you can buy tickets one month prior to a performance. The evening box office at the Scala itself (Via Filodrammatici 2) opens two hours before the start of a performance. For details of the theatre's current programme, please call the number or visit the website shown.

I only stood in front of the famous La Scala in Milan, and haven't made it into the Teatro alla Scala - however, you already feel much more cultivated standing in front of it =)
