Rome's most attractive and most popular baroque square.
Still the Romans' favourite meeting place. A fantastic stage for exhibitionists and boulevardiers. The centrepiece of the square, the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) was made by Bernini, while Giacomo della Porta designed the Neptune Fountain.
One of the most romantic piazzas in Rome, by day or by night. Maybe more beautiful by night, especially lit by the light of the full moon, glowing on the Renaissance-era statues and monuments. Street performers and nearby shopping make this an excellent place to relax and soak up the history.
It's always busy here - no matter what time - people are strolling around and I could just sit in one corner and spend hours watching the the hustle and bustle.
