Founded in the 4th century and built as central late Renaissance building from 1574 onwards, following several periods of destruction. A spectacular garland of chapels has remained of the older structural elements (constructional shapes clearly visible from the park located behind). 16 Roman columns stand in front of the church (Colonne di San Lorenzo).
