Picturesque seaside village

Vernazza is textbook-quaint: it juts out into Mediterranean on the tiniest of peninsulas, its harbor surrounded by old buildings the color of whitewashed pastels. It is stunning to look at while walking in the mountains, and a lovely place to stop for coffee. There is an old church and the ruins if an 11th century castle, but otherwise not much to see - however, there is enough charm here to make you stay a lifetime.
