Filigree glass products from the island of glass blowers.
Murano, which consists of five islands and has around 7000 inhabitants, is primarily known for its glass industry. We would therefore strongly recommend a visit to one of the workshops and the Museo dell'Arte Vetraria (summer: Thu. to Sun. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., winter: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m./ "Museum" pier). With the help of over 4000 items, this museum in the Palazzo Giustinian illustrates the 1000 year history of glass blowing in Murano. The exhibits even include ancient Roman glass. For art lovers the former Cathedral of Santi Maria e Donato in Romanesque style is interesting.
