Air
Flights to Bogotá, Cali, Medellín and Cartagena with AeroRepública; Avianca; Satena; and Searca (booked through Decameron). Copa runs 1 flight daily to Panama City. To Providencia 2 times a day with Satena and Searca. Bookable only in San Andrés.
Sea
Cargo ships are not supposed to carry passengers to the mainland, but many do. It’s possible to catch a ride on one of the cargo boats to Providencia 3 times a week. The journey takes 7-8 hours and is uncomfortable. Normal price is US$22. They usually leave at 2200, arriving in the early morning. Miss Isabel, Doña Olga and Raziman are 3 boats that make the trip regularly. Speak directly to the captain at the port in San Andrés, or enquire at the Port Authority (Capitanía del Puerto) in San Luis. Any other offer of tickets on ships from San Andrés, or of a job on a ship, may be a con. The sea crossing to Cartagena takes 3-4 days, depending on the weather.
Vehicle and bicycle hire
Motorbikes are easy to hire, as are golf buggies. Cars can be hired for US$22 for 2 hrs, US$65 for a day. Passport may be required as deposit.
Bikes are a popular way of getting around on the island and are easy to hire, eg opposite Los Delfines Hotel on Av Colombia, US$2 per hr or US$7 per day.Banks
