This city is really nice to visit and in a great location -- half way between the Romagna coast, famous for its clubs, and Bologna. The airport of Forli is also well connected with many European cities. Forli is a university city, with different campuses of the old Bologna University located here. You can get here easily by train from Rimini or Bologna and then just take a day to walk around and appreciate the beauty of the town.
The main square is Piazza Saffi, there are several nice buildings from different time periods: a great mix of of middle age, renaissance and modern. The place is the meeting point of the Forli families on Sunday and there is a great market every Monday and Friday morning. One thing you can't miss is the San Domenico Museum, built on the former location of an old cloister, now used for great exposition, such as the one of Canova. On a sunny day, a nice place to spend some time is the local park, a real institution of the city, where the students hang out on spring.
Forli is famous for its "Aperitivo", an Italian tradition in which you only have to pay for your drinka and get to eat whatever you want from a buffet -- a nice way to meet the local population and the students who never miss this occasion! Almost all the bars of the city do that, but those you can't miss are Caffé della Borsa (for the quantity) and Petite Arquebuse (for the quality).Forli travel guide by Annalisa is this text outdated?
