Plasencia is a town of Emilia Romagna, northern Italy and near the river Po, is characterized by a high humidity throughout the year. His buildings do not have the majesty of Florence but amazed by its age and style rather sober. The Cathedral dates from the twelfth century while the Basilica of San Antonio dating back to 350. Lovers of castles and fortifications certainly will satisfy your craving for history. Plasencia has, among castles, towers, fortified houses and walls around 300 forts. However, one of its charms lies in the exquisite preparation of typical dishes of pasta filled with outstanding and sweets, including turtlit where chestnut, chocolate and dried fruit are the main ingredients. Although you do not miss is the Grana Padano cheese typical of the region.
