Lakes and mountains, wild Alps valleys and rivers, small villages and wonderful villas, art and nature. All this in the "small" Como province.
The Como Province cover a surface of about 1288 square km and can be considered a "small Province", but in few miles you can find mountains and lakes, the wild Alps valleys and the urban area of Como, the small villages of few houses and the wonderful villas on the lake. It is possible to pass from the centre of the Como to the wildest areas, or from the winter of the Alps to the summer of the lake in less than one hour (of course by car). The Como Province is a concentrate of all the main characteristics of Northern Italy.
Como lake, also known as "Lario", is the deepest in Italy, 410 meters, and one of the deepest in Europe and has a strong influence on the climate, gifting to the centre of the lake area a very pleasant weather.
Como province adds to all this an interesting and original artistic mood with two main trends: the first one, more luxurious, is formed by the Lake Como Villas, unique in the world both for their architectural and landscape value and their incredible treasures. The second, more hidden, is formed by the incredible concentration in this territory of Romanesque churches, that testify a brilliant and flourishing Middle–Age.
In all seasons the "small" Como Province deserve a calm visit.
