Founded in the 1st century B.C., Verona has played such an important role in history. Shakespeare used it as the setting of his play Romeo and Juliet.
Romeo and Juliet, the classic love tragedy, and an opera evening in the backdrop of the giant Roman arena (22,000 seats) in the middle of the city: These are the most common associations of Verona (pop. 255,000), once an important Roman settlement, the place where the Adige River flows from the Alps to the lowlands.

Virtually Verona, Lake Garda is just around the corner!
Verona is a fabulous city. Between the Colosseum and the House of Juliet, look back in time. The Roman Colosseum (or the Arena di Verona, as it is called in Italy) is one of the best preserved and is now the center hosts numerous concerts and events held in Italy. If you accompany the forces to reach the top of the Colosseum is spectacular. Unfortunately many of the underground passages are closed to the public. Then there is the house of Juliet, lost in alleyways, reaching it on Valentine's Day is a real business but if you choose another day you can walk more freely and appreciate all the details of a building as old. Of course, eating in Verona is a luxury in a romantic but always lively, the city gives a tour of all unforgettable.
